Last week, I found myself attending the Digital Marketing Dublin event, all thanks to the generosity of Laura and Melissa from Repak who shared their tickets with us. As I soaked in the insights and wisdom of the event's speakers, I couldn't help but think of all the ways this information linked back to Kooba.

Now, I won't subject you to the entirety of my scribbled notes and bursts of inspiration from the event, but I do want to shine a spotlight on a few key takeaways that left me nodding my head in agreement. What caught my attention is that these insights, while not exactly groundbreaking, are the very essence of what marketeers should be embracing. Even more exciting, they're precisely what we live and breathe here at Kooba. Talk about staying ahead of the curve!

1. Always define success

Okay, I know what you're thinking – "Well, duh!" Defining success sounds like Marketing 101, right? But hear me out. Often, in the rush of day-to-day tasks, we forget to put pen to paper and chart out our path to success. As one of the speakers pointed out, we're often too quick to dive into tactics without nailing down our business goals. It's like trying to build a house without blueprints (or better yet, a website without wireframes!). So, at Kooba, we put success front and centre. We start with the big picture, our business goals, and then craft strategies and tactics that lead us there. It's a step-by-step process that ensures we're not just chasing trends but working towards real, measurable success.

2. Plan & test, rinse & repeat

Simple, right? Yet, so often, we see clients in a rush to see results. We get it; the world moves fast, and we want things yesterday. But are we doing ourselves a disservice by not taking a breath and fleshing out our ideas before launching into action? The answer is probably a resounding "yes." We often use these two words—Plan and Test—as our guiding lights in our Kooba process. Planning gives us direction, and testing ensures we're on the right path. It's like a recipe for success, and it really is that simple.

3. Website, website, website

This one's a personal favourite. I couldn't help but smile as I heard it echoed in every presentation. We've said it time and time again – your website is your digital storefront, your online home. And guess what? It's the ultimate destination for all your marketing efforts. So why, oh why, are some marketeers still treating their website as just another tactic? It's not. Your website is the cornerstone of your digital strategy. It's where the magic happens, where leads turn into customers, and where your brand comes to life. So, let's not just prioritise it; let's celebrate it!

In a nutshell, the event provided a fresh perspective on familiar principles. These are all concepts you've heard before. But, what struck me is how perfectly aligned Kooba already is with these key takeaways. If these are the points the digital marketing experts are talking about, then joining forces with the web experts at Kooba seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it?

Before I sign off, let me leave you with a gem from the session – "A marketer that can code is my biggest nightmare." Our development team here at Kooba might be shaking in their boots, but who knows, maybe it's a goal in the making. After all, staying ahead of the curve means embracing new skills and challenges, right?
