A rapidly growing healthtech company in need of a brand boost

Listed in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 for the past two years (2021 & 2022), has been recognised as one of Ireland's foremost technology firms. Their proposition in their market sector in Ireland is unrivaled. They are a user-friendly digital GP service for the Irish public that saves time and money, unlike traditional bricks ‘n’ mortar doctors who were often inaccessible and far more costly. wanted to accelerate the next phase of the organisation’s growth; they partnered with Kooba in January 2022 to redesign its brand and the UI on the front end of its website.

Taking on the brand

We kicked off the project with initial brand explorations delving into typography, colour palettes, logo and image overlay options, capitalisation and contextualisation of the logo within a webpage. Once the brand route was chosen we were able to flesh out the idea further and create a brand book that outlines the key components of the brand’s identity ensuring consistency of look and feel across platforms.

A trustworthy UI methodology

With a fresh brand to work with we moved into the UI component of the project. Taking a hands-on approach to the project we worked with to map out key website templates and functionality. By defining the new brand approach it was easy to create a new design system for the website. It empowered us to follow modern design patterns and interactions. As we were working collaboratively with’s internal development team this required clear alignment between the teams and good communication. Using the waterfall approach we were able to complete all design deliverables and do a full handover to the team. By using this methodology we allowed them to control the staggered website template releases.

Bringing it all together

Using iconography, strong brand colours, user friendly imagery and a new visual language, Kooba designed modules to build out the new website. Site modularity gives the power to change the website as their product offering grows in a rapidly changing industry. Interactions created for the website are intuitive and user friendly. In keeping with the product itself it guides the user to find the service they are looking for.

The result

Awarded for the process was founded by healthcare professionals committed to bringing about change. In 2022, their new digital brand strategy brought a youthful and confident energy that the brand had not seen before. Our contributions to this new digital strategy have exceeded expectations and Webdoctor KPIs in 2022. In February 2023, Kooba and were awarded Best Collaboration at the 2023 Spider Awards. From January to November 2022, experienced a 50% year-over-year increase in website traffic, a 1.5% year-over-year improvement in website conversion, and a 25% year-over-year revenue growth.
